Terms of Service

Last updated June 4, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Thread.xyz Inc ("Thread", "we", "us") governing your use of the Thread platform, portals, SDK, and APIs (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

01

The Service

Thread provides a permission layer for mailbox access. End users connect a mailbox and grant third-party applications ("Skills") scoped, revocable access to it. Developers build Skills that request those scopes. Thread enforces the granted scopes and masks data that falls outside them.

02

Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.

03

End users — your grants

  • You decide which Skills may access your mailbox and which scopes they receive.
  • You can revoke any grant at any time; revocation takes effect in real time and the Skill loses the access immediately.
  • Data you choose to share with a Skill is handled by that Skill's developer under their own terms and privacy policy, for which Thread is not responsible.
04

Developers — building Skills

  • Request only the scopes your Skill genuinely needs, and use granted data only for the purpose disclosed to the user.
  • Keep your API keys and signing secrets confidential. You are responsible for all use made through your credentials.
  • Maintain an accurate, accessible privacy policy and obtain any consents your own use of the data requires.
  • Do not attempt to access data beyond your granted scopes, bypass masking, or reverse engineer the permission engine.
05

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • violate any law, or infringe the rights of others;
  • access a mailbox you are not authorized to access;
  • disrupt, overload, or probe the Service or its infrastructure;
  • resell or sublicense access without our written agreement.
06

Intellectual property

The Service, including the SDK, APIs, and documentation, is owned by Thread.xyz Inc and licensed to you, not sold. You retain ownership of your own content and code. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service on your behalf.

07

Third-party services

The Service connects to mailbox providers (such as Google and Microsoft) and other third-party services. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms, and we are not responsible for them.

08

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

09

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Thread.xyz Inc will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the one month before the claim.

10

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. On termination, the rights granted to you end and we revoke associated tokens.

11

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date above and, where appropriate, a notice in the portal. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

12

Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Thread.xyz Inc's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions about these Terms can be sent to legal@thread.xyz.
